As the United States transitions to a cleaner energy economy, tribal landshome to some of the most underserved communitiesstand at a critical intersection of opportunity and challenge. While renewable energy projects such as wind and solar farms are expanding across the country, I have observed that infrastructure on tribal lands often suffers from underinvestment, limited operational support, and high failure rates. Predictive maintenance, leveraging artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and industrial internet of things (IIoT) technologies, offers a transformative solution to these problems. In this white paper, I outline why implementing predictive maintenance systems in renewable energy projects on tribal lands is of national importance, and I describe how my qualifications enable me to lead this initiative effectively.
