Author Name Muhammad Zaib, ManzarMaqsood Sandhu, Mehmood Zar,Usman Ghani, Abdul Rehman, Muhammad Hussnain Musharraf, Muhammad Zubair, Roaid Abbas and Irfan Raza Abstract Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) are beneficial microorganisms that colonize the rhizosphere and contribute to plant growth and health through various mechanisms. This review article provides an overview of PGPR and their essential role in promoting plant growth. It explores the diverse mechanisms employed by PGPR, such as nutrient solubilization, production of phytohormones, and biological control of pathogens. The paper also highlights the impact of PGPR on enhancing plant tolerance to abiotic stresses, such as drought and salinity. Furthermore, the review delves into the interactions between PGPR and plants' root systems, focusing on the modulation of root architecture and nutrient uptake. The importance of understanding PGPR-plant interactions for sustainable agriculture and future prospects of harnessing PGPR for agricultural practices are discussed. Keywords:PGPR, plant growth promotion, rhizosphere, biological nitrogen fixation, phytohormones, nutrient uptake, biofertilizers, sustainable agriculture.
