Author Name Dr.B.MAHADEVAN and A. PARIMALADEVI Abstract Digital Humanities (DH) has emerged as a transformative field that integrates technology with humanities scholarship, reshaping how knowledge is created, preserved, and accessed. Modern librarianship plays a pivotal role in supporting DH initiatives by offering expertise in data management, digital curation, metadata creation, and information literacy. Libraries have evolved from repositories of print collections to dynamic digital knowledge hubs, facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration and open-access scholarship. However, the integration of DH within libraries also presents persistent challenges, including limited technical infrastructure, skill gaps among library professionals, funding constraints, and issues related to digital preservation and copyright. Addressing these challenges requires continuous professional development, strategic partnerships, and institutional support. This paper explores the evolving prospects of digital humanities in the library environment and highlights the need for librarians to adapt and innovate to meet the demands of the digital research landscape.
