The rapid rise of social media has changed how business interacts with consumers. Advertisements are now personalized, interactive, and convincing. Social media marketing campaigns utilize fast thinking processes such as limited-time promotions, scarcity, social proof, emotional appeals, and popular endorsements, as well as catchy visuals, in order to induce rapid decision-making by consumers. This marketing approach leads to less thorough evaluation of products and impulse buying.
The purpose of this research is to study the role that fast thinking processes in social media advertisements play in impulse buying. The study relies on dual-processing theory, especially on the idea of fast thinking. The research investigates how cognitive shortcuts influence unexpected purchasing decisions. A quantitative research approach is used for the study, as well as structured questionnaires that help to gather primary data from modern social media users, while statistical data analysis is used to assess the links between fast thinking and impulse buying.
The results are anticipated to yield considerable information for marketers, advertisers, and companies when creating effective social media advertising campaigns, as well as assist consumers in grasping the psychological mechanisms that guide their purchase decisions. The research adds to the increasing knowledge about digital consumer behaviour, including the importance of cognitive processes in impulse purchases in the modern world of e-commerce.
