Abstract

This project addresses the major challenges faced in conventional solar power systems, such as low energy efficiency due to fixed panel positioning, power loss caused by dust accumulation, and the lack of timely fault detection and monitoring. Traditional solar panels remain stationary and fail to capture maximum sunlight throughout the day, resulting in reduced energy output. Additionally, dust, dirt, and environmental particles accumulate on the panel surface, significantly decreasing efficiency and requiring frequent manual cleaning, which is time-consuming and not always feasible. Another critical issue is the absence of intelligent monitoring systems, making it difficult to detect faults early and prevent system failures. To overcome these problems, this project proposes an IoT-based solar panel tracking and automated cleaning system. The system dynamically tracks the sun’s movement to optimize energy absorption, while a dust detection mechanism activates a water pump for automatic cleaning when required. Furthermore, an AI-based fault prediction model analyzes system performance to identify potential issues in advance, and a GSM module sends real-time alerts to users for immediate action. This integrated solution enhances efficiency, reduces maintenance efforts, and ensures reliable solar energy generation.
