Distributed Control Systems (DCS) have become a cornerstone in the modernization of thermal power plant operations. This paper outlines the architecture, implementation strategy, and benefits of integrating DCS into thermal power plants. The transition from conventional control systems to DCS enables real-time monitoring, improved safety, reduced downtime, and efficient operation. This study focuses on the practical aspects of implementing DCS, including system configuration, communication protocols, human-machine interfaces (HMI) , and integration with existing plant infrastructure.
Key Words: DCS, Thermal Power Plant, Automation, SCADA, Control Systems, HMI, PLC.
