It is a major risk factor for cardiovascular diseases, stroke, and renal failure, contributing to a substantial burden of morbidity and mortality. Globally, hypertension affects more than 1.13 billion people, with the prevalence rapidly increasing in developing countries like India. Among the various risk groups, healthcare professionals (HCPs) in India are uniquely vulnerable to developing hypertension due to the stressful nature of their jobs, long working hours, irregular shifts, and lifestyle factors. Understanding the determinants of hypertension among this group is crucial for devising targeted interventions to mitigate the risks and improve their overall well being.
