Value based education is the need of the hour as moral and religious values are eroding day by day. Value education can change a person's behavior and attitude due to which good citizens can be prepared.The aim of education is all-round development of students and building a balanced personality of students. There is great need of value based education for developing physical, mental, social, spiritual and character personality of the students. Through value education, students can develop a sense of patriotism and national integrity, thereby producing responsible and creative citizens. Teacher plays an important role in inculcating values in students because teachers are role models for students. Value education is that education which helps in promoting social and national integration by changing the personality of an individual. To achieve national objectives, students need value based education so that they can develop values of humanism, democracy, secularism and national unity. Today's era is the era of science where new scientific discoveries have made human life easier but somewhere our moral and social values have been affected and devaluation of values is being felt whereas in ancient times, value education was given special importance which is mentioned in ancient literature. Hence, for social harmony and national integrity, there is an urgent need for value based education which is being felt continuously.
