Online Odia Language Teaching: Issues and Challenges

In the age of Web 2.0, the e-language learning programs for regional language in the local context are taking centre stage for future teaching learning purpose. Again future society and employability are demanding creativity and problem solving, social-emotional skills, self-awareness and self-recognition. Therefore today's education stressed upon the personalized learning along with language centric communicative teaching-learning approach. And only assist with information technology tools can overcome this challenge with e-learning. However, with global pace, the regional language struggling to cope up due to several factors such as infrastructure, people’s awareness, inclination towards e-learning. Therefore, the study seeks to investigate the issues and challenges on the implementation of e-language learning programs for Odia language as one of the regional but classical status language of the Indian sub-continent. With this, the present paper also proposed an e-learning curriculum development for Odia language learning.
