Abstract

Interpersonal skills are the skill that a person uses to interact or deal with other people and it involves using skills such as active listening, modulation and tone of voice and the like. People with good interpersonal skills can generally control the feelings that emerge in difficult situations and respond appropriately instead of being’ over’ by emotions.   Everyone has interpersonal skills subconsciously positioned, since birth.  Interpersonal skills help to read what others say and do.  People with good interpersonal skills will identify the best ways of interacting with others in different situations.Therefore the curriculum need to be redesigned by providing some space for inculcating interpersonal skills in the curriculum. This study is the result of an investigation made by the investigator to identify the best suitable strategies as perceived by High Secondary school teachers to enhance interpersonal skills among Higher Secondary school students.A checklist of strategies prepared by the investigator was used for data collection. The result showed that the Higher Secondary teachers primarily prefer Role-play as strategy to enhance interpersonal skill for Higher Secondary school students..
