VISIONMATE SMART ENVIRONMENTAL AWARNESS SYSTEM

Author: Dr. S . Kowsalya and Tharun A

Abstract

VisionMate Smart Environmental Awareness System is an AI-driven assistive application designed to enhance environmental perception, personal safety, and independent mobility for individuals with accessibility challenges. The system integrates real-time object detection, contextual risk evaluation, emergency response activation, secure authentication, and structured SQLite database management into a unified intelligent platform.

Unlike conventional assistive systems that operate in isolation—either focusing on object detection or emergency communication—VisionMate introduces an integrated safety loop that detects, analyzes, decides, and responds in real time. The system employs a YOLO-based object detection model for environmental sensing and a relational database structure for secure data management.

By combining environmental awareness with emergency preparedness, VisionMate promotes inclusivity, independence, and confidence. The system demonstrates how AI-based assistive technologies can be transformed into proactive safety platforms with real-world impact.
